Thunder Live at Club Citta’ 2009.4.19.
20 Years & Out, The Japanese Farewell Tour、Thunder日本さよなら公演最終日に参戦。
開演前のBGMは英国のRadio局らしいジングルが流れていた。やはり彼らはRadioを聴いて育った世代だね。Radioに関する曲も多いし。(^^) Blue Oyster Cultの"Cities on Flame"やMagnumの"Vigilante"などが流れていたのが激シブ。
普段と変わらないAC/DCの"Thunderstruck"から「Thunder」コールに導かれてメンバーが登場し、"Welcome To The Party"。Thunderの楽しいParty Showが始まった。至って普通の、そしていつもの最高なLive。しかし改めてセットリストを確認したところ"Bang! Tour"の基本構成とは異なり日本Farewellに相応しいGreatest Hits Live!ってな感じだった。
しいて言えば最新作からは"On The Radio"からだけだったので"Stormwater"も聴きたかったなとか、珍しい曲の演奏はなかったとか贅沢な要求が思いをかすめたが、納得のセットリストだろう。
音響はChris Childsのベースの音がハウリング気味。特に中盤まで正直余り良くなかったが、Dannyのvo.は相変わらず最高に上手いし、Lukeのギター姿はかっこいい(お腹出てるけれど）し、Harryの一生懸命なプレイも最高だし、お茶目なBenのカウベルやkey.のアクセントはバンドの音の幅を広げているし、Chrisの職人ベースはマニア感動モノだし、まぎれもなくThunderは最高のLive Bandであった。
密かな名作だと思っている「The Magnificent Seventh」から"I'm Dreaming Again"が演奏されたときにはちょっと涙ぐんでしまった。彼らってみんな歌えるし、コーラスも最高なんだよな。
"The Devil Made Me Do It"のDannyのパンチのある歌は素晴らしいね。Lovely!
Chrisの渋いベースのイントロから痺れるギターが飛び出る"Higher Ground"は最高にグルーヴィだね。
Benのピアノから導かれる"Like A Satellite"がまさかこの日に聴けると思わなかったので、また涙腺がゆるむ。
"Fade Into The Sun"は後半Francis Laiの "Love Story（ある愛の詩）"のギターソロを挟むいつものアレンジだけれどもニヤリとさせられる。
"Just Another Suicide"でのDannyのMagic Fingerも健在。あまりに普通に進行していくので本当にこれが最後かと思ってしまうが、これがThunderの姿なんだよね。Splendid!
アンコールで"Backstreet Symphony"がきけた事は本当に幸せだった。
The Rolling StonesやThe Whoなどイギリスの大先輩もまだ活動中なのでThunderが再び戻ってくることを切に願う。
